Job description
COMPETITVE SALARY - Spirit PR is a highly effective, award-winning consultancy based in Bristol, working with a variety of organisations across the South West.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Senior Account Manager’s primary responsibility will be to lead and develop existing clients, whilst identifying and winning new business and contributing to the development of the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining and developing long term business relationships
- Developing a strong knowledge of our clients’ businesses/organisations, their markets, competitors and relevant industry bodies
- Developing and delivering client communication strategies and plans
- Delivering projects and campaigns against briefs
- Developing proposals, pitching for and securing new business opportunities, as part of the Spirit team
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with appropriate members of the media
- Keeping abreast of market trends and client needs
- Understanding and managing the financial side of each account
- Contributing to the company’s development and acting as its ambassador in the local/regional community

Person specification
To meet the high standards we promise our clients and to fit into our unique culture, you will need:
- At least 5 years experience in PR and communications, preferably in a consultancy or customer facing role
- Experience across a range of sectors, although we are particularly interested in B2B experience
- Excellent communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal
- Proven experience of devising effective communications strategies
- Evidence of creativity in devising and delivering PR plans
- Demonstrable ability to influence and persuade
- Effective budget management
- Some experience of winning new business from clients
- Experience as working as an effective team member, both as a leader and participant
- A solid understanding of the role of social/digital media in strategic communications
